-Generational evolution 2011- Relevo generacional 2011-

For a breeder, the selection process throughout it trajectory is conditionated for diferents needs, priority, and interests depending of the moment of the process where the breed is and the experience gained. Fix type or corret smalls faults, not always should be priorities forgetting other importants parameters as the vigor-bloodlines, health, funtionality, and even a certain respect for the historic variability of this breed, interpreting the standar from a needs and logical flexibility. This is simply a matter of common sense. In "Los Tarantos", after several years testing and stocking up genetics and complementary types, we start this generational evolution with a important step toward the type definition and morfologic improve, always around the pilars which mark our breeding filosofy: the functionality and esense. We have congregated a stud team -all of them witouth exception, sons of tested functional dogs as Roky; Moreno; Tyron; Novillo; etc. A team where the structural cuality, the physical solvency, the well balance character; closed bites, etc., show a new important step toward our diferential stamp. For this objetive we will continue collaborating closely with our hunt friends, whose will continue beying the best functional thermometer indicating the way.

In the following repport we show the evolution of our breeding. Included Rebollito as a veteran reference and inspiration for us; in type and objetive, even at its 11 years old !!! We will review graphically some aspect in relation with improvement of structures; bites and homogeneization. Altought we recognize that there is a long way to walk, we feel very satisficed with the improvement achieved, even having worked with low consanguinity levels. Soon we will make public an article in relation with the recuperation process and the actual situation of the breed under our perspective.

We observe lately certain confusion and conceptual mistakes instigated from radical and extremes positions incompatibles with the filosofy of this breed. This "racial group" developed historically in a flexible scenario where each functional speciality modeled differential characteristcs and a certain variability in types (see my scale of typicity). Obviously we must homogenize if we want talk of fixed breed. But this process, as any casserole - doing a culinary comparison - needs it cooking time; the hurry and shortcut in selection aren't good if you want results witouth secundary problems. And in this context, we hear some voices of any "breeders" seeking protection behind the functionality -concept belonged to the breed not to any individual- for justify their mediocres achievement in morfologic and restricting the breed under unflexible parameters or even toward extremes tipologics; using a biased part of the history -not global view-; demanding periods inappropriated to the cadence of the process, and doing demagogy around it. Tolerance zero to the intolerance and manipulation !!!...around this matter and something more will be the reflections we will write nextly in this web....

Para un criador, el proceso de selección a lo largo de su trayectoria viene marcado por diferentes necesidades, prioridades e intereses según la fase del proceso en la que se encuentre. Fijar tipo o corregir pequeños defectos puntuales no siempre serán prioridades ni deben dar la espalda a otros aspectos fundamentales como el vigor - líneas de sangre, salud, funcionalidad, e incluso cierto respeto a la variabilidad histórica de la raza, entendiendo el estandar desde una necesaria y lógica flexibilidad. Esto es una cuestión de sentido común. En "Los Tarantos", después de una serie de años acopiando genéticas y tipologías complementarias, abordamos este relevo generacional con un paso importante hacia la definición de tipo y mejora morfológica, sobre los pilares que marcaron y seguirán marcando nuestra filosofía selectiva: la funcionalidad. Hemos reunido un helenco de reproductores, -todos sin excepción hijos y nietos de perros super contrastados funcionalmente (Roky; Tyron; Moreno; Novillo; etc.,)- donde la calidad estructural, la solvencia física, el equilibrio de caracter, las mordidas ajustadas, y un paso más en el sello diferencial de nuestro concepto de tipismo, nos permiten configurar una base importante hacia el objetivo final. Para lograr este objetivo seguiremos colaborando estrechamente con nuestros amigos cazadores, que son el mejor termómetro funcional y quienes avalarán el designio de los más aptos para seguir mejorando.

En el siguiente reportaje, les mostramos la evolución de nuestro plantel de cría en contraste con Rebollito como veterano referente e inspiración de tipo y objetivo aún a sus 11 años de edad. Repasaremos graficamente aspectos relacionados con las mejoras en estructuras; mordidas y homogeneización. Aunque aún queda camino por recorrer, estamos muy satisfechos con las mejoras conseguidas aún trabajando con índices muy moderados de consanguinidad.

Pronto haremos público un artículo relacionado con el proceso de recuperación y la situación actual de la raza desde nuestra perspectiva. Observamos cierta confusión y errores conceptuales promovidos desde posiciones radicales o extremas incompatibles con la filosofía de esta raza. Esta agrupación racial ha venido evolucionando históricamente en un escenario flexible donde cada especialidad funcional modeló matices diferenciales y cierta variabilidad en tipos (ver escalar de tipicidad). Obviamente hay que homogeneizar si queremos hablar de raza. Pero este proceso, como todo guiso -valga el simil culinario-, requiere su tiempo de cochura; las prisas y los atajos en selección nunca fueron buenas consejeras para garantizar resultados sin efectos colaterales. Y en este contexto se pronuncian determinados aficionados apropiandose de la funcionalidad -concepto patrimonio de la raza- para justificar sus mediocres logros selectivos y encorsetando al alano bajo parámetros inflexibles o incluso extremos; utilizando la historia de manera sesgada en lugar de hacerlo globalmente; exigiendo ritmos inapropiados a la cadencia del proceso, y haciendo demagogia sobre el mismo.

Comentarios sobre el / los estandares y la morfología; génesis y filosofía de ANCAE; funcionalidad y aspectos comportamentales y madurativos típicos (precocidad e instintos vs aprendizaje, etc...) ...sobre estos temas y algo más versan las reflexiones que verán próximamente en esta web. Tolerancia cero a la intolerancia y a la manipulación !!!
